Margaret (Peggy) Brennan is the Assistant Director of Operations for Humanities Without Walls. She is a PhD Candidate in History at the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign. She holds a B.A. in history and Spanish from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, and a Master’s in early modern Irish history from Trinity College Dublin. Her dissertation project, “Refugees to Settlers: ‘Palatines’ in the Early Modern Atlantic World” examines the early eighteenth century migration of a large group of German-speaking refugees from the Rhineland regions of the Holy Roman Empire to England, Ireland, North America, and the Caribbean.
